Immunisations

Childhood immunisations are free and available against a wide range of disease.

Three reasons why children and young people are immunised are:-

To prevent children from becoming ill with unpleasant and serious infectious diseases

Protect all children in the population

Wipe out as many infectious disease as we can everywhere in the world.

The school based programme currently includes the HPV for girls in Year 8 and the Men ACWY and the 3 in 1 Booster (Td/IPV – Tetanus, Diphtheria & Polio) in Year 9 for all.

The Greenwich Immunisation team will deliver assemblies to inform young people about the vaccinations and give out consent forms for parents to sign.
